Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
PageSignal ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the PageSignal Chrome extension handles your data.
Data Collection and Storage
Key Point:
All data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. No data is transmitted to external servers.
What we store locally:
- •Page URLs: The URLs you add for checking
- •Page Snapshots: Text content of checked pages (latest snapshot only, for comparison)
- •Change History: Records of detected changes (retained for 7 days)
- •Settings: Your preferences (check intervals, detection modes, language)
No External Data Transmission
PageSignal operates entirely within your browser. The extension:
- ✓Does NOT send your browsing history to any server
- ✓Does NOT transmit the URLs you are checking
- ✓Does NOT share any data with third parties
- ✓Does NOT use analytics or tracking services
When you check a page, your browser directly fetches the content from the target website. This is the same as if you visited the page manually.
Exception: License Verification
The only external communication the extension makes is to our license verification server to validate your license key. This request contains only the license key itself — no URLs, page content, or browsing data is included.
Data Retention
Snapshots
Only the latest snapshot per page is retained (for change comparison).
Change History
Automatically deleted after 7 days. Cleanup runs hourly.
Diff Text
Limited to 5,000 characters per change record.
Manual Deletion
You can delete all data at any time via the extension settings.
